Tybee Island - Places to eat and
HONEST reviews.
Not all are positive.

Tybee has some great places to eat. (We love to eat.)
Below you will find our HONEST reviews of places we have eaten. Keep in
mind these are our opinions, but we do know food. Don't blame us
if you happen to hit them on a bad day. Some of these places we have
eaten at MANY times. Some days are better than others.
We love our Fannies

9 out of 10 crabs for lunch
A hot day on the beach and you want to sit down, cool off and have some good
GRUB.
Kids can order pizza or chicken fingers, while mom and dad have HUGE
scallops or shrimp.
Price is not bad for a beach front restaurant. Mom got a little mad
about a few flies zipping around, but it is the beach, not Alaska. After the
first lunch we had there we eat there SEVERAL times a week. LOVE IT. Wear
your sandals, shorts and t-shirts to be over dressed.

The Crab Shack

Three out of ten crabs (Sorry)

Lots of people told us to go to the Crab Shack.
We did, for a while.
It was hot, flies cover our legs, arms and faces. Smell was not pleasant and
son felt sick. Featured platter is about $30 for one person. After
getting our drinks we told them that we were leaving. I just didn't get it.
If I want to be hot, stinky, covered with flies, I'll go fishing.
Food is said to be GREAT, but we never made it that far.
Many people love this place, but remember it is outdoor with no air
conditioning. Try it for yourself and make your own call. Just be prepared
for the setting.
Fun for kids with an alligator park at the front.
